We are deeply committed to keeping our website safe and enjoyable for you and your family. AUI strives to conform to the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO) Code of Standards and Principles, the FTC’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) Final Rule, the Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) Guidelines for Advertising on the Internet and Online Services, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Graham-Leach Bliley Act, and other privacy regulations and guidelines in the U.S. Surveys, polls and quizzes are used simply for entertainment and educational purposes. We don’t offer the answers provided to any outside source. AUI routinely reviews its security features and privacy practices, and enhances them to better protect your privacy. Such changes may necessitate modifications to this document, so for up-to-date information about our privacy practices, please refer to the online version of this policy. Our privacy practices are explained in greater detail below. During the registration process on sciencefun.us (a site directed towards, intended for, and appealing to youth, young adults and science enthusiasts) we require individuals to provide us with contact information (e.g., name and email address) and demographic information (e.g., gender, birth date, city, state, zip code, and country). To allow individuals to modify their submissions at a later point in time, we also ask registrants to establish a username and password. This means that if an individual under the age of 13 attempts to register, their registration information will be collected, but automatically deleted. During the registration process on sciencefun.us we require individuals to provide us with their parent’s email address. This enables us to contact the parent if parental permission is required for particular activities due to its subject nature or software download requirements. Children under age 13 are not permitted to register, and are blocked from registering via a session cookie. Adults are allowed to register children, when they are aware of the rules, activities, and indication of the parent involvement is noted. Other Information Collected on the AUI Interactive Website As part of the survey process, we often ask members other demographic information and other information related to interests, hobbies, and product/technology usage. We collect this information so that we can create ongoing activities with the participants interests in mind. We also summarize information learned and offer feedback and follow up reports. Visitors to our website are provided email forms to contact us if they have questions, comments, are interested in job opportunities, or require further information on our products or services. Responses to such inquiries may be sent via email or regular mail. Information Collected Passively on the Website Like other websites on the Internet, we use a variety of mechanisms to keep our sites running smoothly and ensure that your experience is a pleasant one. We use cookies, small data files stored on your computer’s hard drive, to collect information such as browser, type of computer, operating system, Internet service provider, access times and other similar information. We also use cookies to retain your username and password. Many visitors may
know that erasing the cookies is possible by going to TOOLS, Microsoft

Legal Disclaimer Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website. If users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner.
